Ships ARMS - Avoid Repetitive Motion Syndrome
Software reduces risk of developing
painful Repetitive Strain Injuries
SANTA CLARA, CA -- Aug. 1, 1995 -- Micronite
Inc. has begun shipping ARMS™ - Avoid
Repetitive Motion Syndrome™, an
interactive, ergonomic software designed to
reduce the risk of developing painful Repetitive
Strain Injuries (RSI). ARMS is part of
Micronite's ongoing CommonSense Ergonomics™
series of products.
Designed with the philosophy that preventing
RSI is much easier than curing them, ARMS
includes digital videos of exercises for hands,
arms, and wrists that the user can view and
perform at the computer workstation. ARMS
intelligently monitors and displays the amount of
keystrokes, mouse movements, and time elapsed
between exercise breaks. Thresholds for keyboard,
mouse, and time activity can be set easily to let
ARMS gently remind the user to take a break and
perform the exercises.
"Micronite is committed to delivering
cost-effective and technologically innovative
ergonomic solutions," said M. Yousuf Lodhia,
President and CEO of Micronite Inc. "Our
CommonSense Ergonomics product line will soon
include software to fight eyestrain and an
interactive software to provide ergonomics
training for all computer users concerned about
their health and safety."
